“Build a custom home on my own? Many friends thought it was a pretty far-fetched idea. I knew they were wrong once I met Steve Cardamone and began planning to build my townhouse.

The saying “third time’s the charm” could not be more true when it comes to Steve and his sons’ incredible ability to make this my best home construction project. My husband and I built two other homes in Ithaca several years ago, but this time I was on my own. I knew I wanted to build, and luckily Steve was available to dive into my project. He was able to recommend suppliers who also provided outstanding customer service; it was a pleasure to work with them as I selected cabinets, lighting, flooring and fixtures for the house. Steve and his sons’ commitment to excellence, and their steadfast work ethic, honesty and creativity resulted in a dream home I’ll treasure for years to come.

Steve, Corey and Scott are skilled builders who do things right from start to finish. Superior materials, attention to detail, a willingness to work cooperatively to meet customers’ expectations, and a positive attitude day in and day out made the building process exciting for me. I was confident from day one that my house would be lovely, and I was right!

Their efficiency is remarkable. This trio works together like a well-oiled machine. They start promptly every morning and by evening I was always amazed at how much they had accomplished. When Steve makes a promise, you don’t have to worry. These builders are true to their word; they have a friendly, down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach that is reassuring and refreshing in today’s hectic world.

I customized many things in my home and Steve worked closely with me on a daily basis to turn my ideas into reality. My custom-built kitchen table is an extension of my kitchen island. A unique glass tile backsplash appears to change color when I turn on the LED under cabinet lights. In the great room, installing my built-in TV and hidden speakers above my fireplace required close collaboration between Hi-Way Hi Fi, Steve, and our electrician. Not only did I want a specialized TV system, but I also included a whole house sound system that Hi-Way Hi Fi designed and Steve incorporated into the house design. Music zones in the dining room, master bedroom and finished basement are another custom feature that I love in this house.

David Brown, of Creative Custom Cabinets, worked closely with Steve and me on the custom-built cabinets I added to the kitchen and great room. More custom built-in cabinets and an entertainment center in the master bedroom, glass block walls and custom cabinets in the master bathroom, and a custom designed upstairs bathroom meant that Steve had to make building modifications which he willingly did. Two additional bedrooms, a living room and full bath in the basement transformed this huge space into valuable living space that my family truly enjoys. The results are spectacular if I must say so!

Once the house was completed, it was time for the frosting on our gorgeous cake. It was time to design and build my three-season sun room off the kitchen. This room morphed from a deck to a screened porch to finally a sunroom. Its tile floor, cedar planked ceiling and ample windows make it a bright, sun-filled space that is cozy and fun.

Steve, Corey and Scott don’t disappear once your home is completed. If an issue comes up, no matter how small, they never fail to rectify it quickly. Customer service is the cornerstone of their business and I commend them on how well they have responded to any little issues I’ve had.

Many excellent and skilled people contributed to the building process and Steve Cardamone oversaw it from start to finish. He schedules the work to be completed, sees that it’s done on time, and settles for nothing less than perfection. No minor imperfection escapes his trained eye; he’s a stickler for detail. His determination to satisfy his customers, his commitment to quality, and his willingness to go the extra mile make him and exceptional builder. And as I’ve told him, I’d build again with Cardamone builders in a heartbeat!”
